In round 26 of the 2026 Brazilian Serie A, Corinthians hosted Chapecoense at the Neo Química Arena in São Paulo on Sunday, 6 September. The visitors won 2-1 after coming from behind, according to Santa Catarina's football federation (FCF).
How the goals came
Corinthians took the lead inside two minutes through Matheus Bidu. Chapecoense equalised in the 40th minute of the first half, with Marcinho heading in a cross from Heitor, then struck again in the 32nd minute of the second half, turning in a cross from Yannick Bolasie to complete the comeback.
According to match statistics compiled by the BBC, Corinthians dominated possession (62.1% to 37.9%) and had more shots (16 to 7, including 6 on target to 5), but Chapecoense committed far more fouls (21 to 9) and picked up four yellow cards, compared with none for Corinthians.

The win was Chapecoense's third of the Serie A season and their first away from home, the FCF reported. It lifted them to 17 points, though they remain bottom of the table. Chapecoense will next face Internacional-SP at home at Arena Condá on 12 September at 17:00.
Corinthians arrived at the match on a three-game losing streak and sitting mid-table with 32 points; this defeat extends that run. Attention now turns to the Copa Libertadores quarter-finals, with the first leg against Argentina's Estudiantes de La Plata set for 9 September.
Head coach Fernando Diniz was missing several regulars: Raniele, Gabriel Paulista and Hugo Souza were all suspended after picking up their third yellow cards, while André, Yuri Alberto, André Ramalho, Zakaria Labyad, Vitinho and Kayke were unavailable through injury or recovery, according to GE. For Chapecoense, midfielder Camilo returned from suspension, while left-back Bruno Pacheco was sidelined by suspension. Forward Bolasie, back from a pancreas issue, returned to the squad and set up the winning goal.
