Chelsea beat Leeds United 6:3 in a goal-filled League Cup clash

Rocky start for the hosts

Leeds took the lead in the 23rd minute through a precise finish from Tariq Muharemović. The visitors doubled their advantage early in the second half when Brenden Aaronson capitalized on sloppy Chelsea defending near their own penalty area.

A dramatic turnaround

Chelsea responded quickly. Cole Palmer converted a penalty in the 53rd minute to pull one back, then scored again just two minutes later to level the score. Within less than seven minutes, Chelsea turned a two-goal deficit into a one-goal lead — substitute Pedro Neto put the hosts ahead, and Danny Welbeck extended the lead to two goals shortly after.

With 15 minutes left in regulation time, Leeds brought on Dominic Calvert-Lewin in an attempt to fight back. However, any hopes of a comeback faded soon after, as Valentín Barco made it 5:3 for Chelsea. Danny Welbeck sealed the final score in stoppage time with his second goal of the match, completing the 6:3 result.
