A Trip to Čiekurkalns

Čiekurkalns, a neighborhood in Riga, gives visitors a sense of being both in Barcelona and Berlin. Here stands a church adorned with colorful mosaics and unusual shapes that could easily rival the works of Gaudí.

Under the railway bridge, an underpass has been transformed into a street art gallery, showcasing a variety of murals. Expressive wall paintings can also be found elsewhere in the area. Čiekurkalns is dotted with numerous sculptures to discover during a stroll.

The historic cobblestone streets invite you to walk and feel the old-world charm. On summer days, the shore of Lake Ķīšezers offers a pleasant retreat and scenic views. The cozy library courtyard is another spot to enjoy tranquility and the local atmosphere.
