According to E! News, Venus Williams is 46 years old. Last Word on Sports, writing about the 2026 US Open, simply describes her as a player "still playing in her mid-40s" without giving an exact number — so the two sources don't state the precise same figure, though both confirm she is competing at close to 50.

The seven-time Grand Slam singles champion hasn't won a title in a decade but keeps entering tournaments. In 2025 she used a wild card to play doubles alongside sister Serena and to compete in singles at the US Open, and, as reported by Last Word on Sports, in the first round of the 2026 US Open she is set to face former Grand Slam champion Sofia Kenin. This season Venus is 0-9 on hardcourts, while Kenin is 2-11.

As E! News reports, her opening-match win at the Mubadala DC Open in Washington in July 2025 made Venus the second-oldest woman ever to win a singles match on the WTA Tour — a record set by Martina Navratilova in 2004 at age 47.

Marriage to Andrea Preti

Unlike sister Serena, who appeared to retire after 2022 before returning to the sport this summer, Venus has never formally announced retirement. Last year she married Italian actor-director Andrea Preti multiple times — first privately in Ischia, Italy, then officially in Palm Beach, Florida, where a civil ceremony on December 20 was followed the next day by a formal wedding as part of a five-day celebration.

The couple met in June 2024 during Milan Fashion Week at a Gucci event on Lake Como. Preti proposed in Tuscany on January 31, 2025. Venus has said it was Preti who encouraged her to keep playing tennis during moments when she wanted to slow down. She has emphasized that she lives life on her own terms and feels no need to apologize for still being on court.
