August's Moon-without-course days: astrologers advise avoiding conflicts and changes
Astrologers say that August will include Moon-without-course periods, known in Latvia as čika laiks, when people should avoid making major decisions and getting into conflicts.

Astrologers are drawing attention to periods when the Moon leaves one zodiac constellation and has not yet entered the next. This interval, lasting from a few minutes to several days, is known as the Moon without course. In Latvia it is commonly called "čika laiks", after a folk tale about a blacksmith who, after much hammering, produced only a tiny "čik" – a small, worthless thing.
According to astrologers, such periods can bring complications. Information may turn out to be unreliable: someone promises to return a call but does not, or an important email contains many inaccuracies. Business offers that initially look profitable may prove disappointing within a week. Contracts fall through, people change their minds, meetings are rescheduled. Delays, mixed-up documents and technical glitches become more common – a car may refuse to start, or a computer may freeze at the worst moment.
Special attention should be paid to numbers and financial operations, since mistakes are easy to make but hard to notice. Astrologers advise against launching large projects, registering a new company, starting a new job, signing important papers, shopping online, giving presentations, engaging in conflicts at work, sending crucial emails, undergoing surgery, confessing love, going on a first date or getting married during this time.
This does not mean life should come to a standstill. The period is considered suitable for spiritual and creative activities such as yoga, meditation, rest, walks, solitude, quiet conversations, reading and self-reflection. A visit to a spa, a massage or a cosmetologist is also recommended, as well as a thorough cleaning or getting rid of clutter.
There is no full agreement among astrologers about the significance of the Moon without course. Some see it as unfavourable for starting anything important, while others believe its importance is exaggerated. Just as the full moon affects people differently, the influence of this period may depend on an individual horoscope and other factors. Those who believe in its negative effects are advised not to plan serious matters then, as they may attract what they fear. A calendar of the Moon without course for August 2026 may help avoid failures if an important decision or event is being planned.
