CIA Director John Ratcliffe, during a secret trip to Moscow, proposed organizing a trilateral meeting between US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The American side informed the Ukrainian side about this proposal on Friday.

At the same time, Kyiv has stated it possesses intelligence data indicating Russia is preparing a new offensive in the northern part of Ukraine.

A prolonged combined strike

Between August 28 and 29, Russia carried out a combined attack that lasted continuously for more than 28 hours. Analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) assess the strike as an attempt to wear down Ukraine's air defense capabilities.
