Coco Gauff enters US Open with a personal necklace and a new New Balance collection
Ahead of her first-round match at the 2026 US Open, American tennis star Coco Gauff debuted a necklace she co-designed herself, while New Balance prepares to unveil her custom tournament outfit.

American tennis player Coco Gauff arrived at the 2026 US Open carrying two new, personal storylines — a necklace she helped design herself, and an upcoming custom outfit from her sponsor New Balance.
A necklace with the letter "C"
According to ELLE, ahead of her first-round match Gauff wore a necklace featuring a sapphire-blue pendant shaped like the letter "C." She began creating the piece with jewelry designer Jennifer Fisher this summer in London — not far from where Gauff reached the semifinals at Wimbledon this year, the deepest run of her career there. The project was made in partnership with Chase Sapphire Reserve. Gauff told ELLE she first wore Fisher's designs at age 15 during one of her earliest major editorial shoots, which makes the current collaboration feel especially meaningful to her. Fisher, for her part, said she has worked with many celebrities before but never with a female athlete, and expressed admiration for Gauff at what she called the prime of her career. The design process focused both on aesthetics — the specific shade of blue tied to the Chase brand — and practicality: the necklace was made light and comfortable enough to wear both daily and during matches. Gauff has reportedly worn it throughout her practice sessions at the tournament, paired with her colorful New Balance kit.
A new New Balance collection and tournament look
As reported by designscene.net, New Balance released a full tennis collection for the hardcourt season timed to the US Open, spanning apparel and footwear. The collection's color palette includes Dawn Glow, Enoki, Mint Water and Silver Moss, and features several of the brand's athletes alongside Gauff, including Tommy Paul, Jordan Thompson and McCartney Kessler. Men's apparel prices range from $40 to $85, while women's pieces range from $40 to $110. The footwear lineup includes the new FuelCell 996v7 model ($135 for adults, $70 for kids), along with Gauff's signature shoes, the Coco CG2 ($160) and Coco Delray ($110), designed to match the tournament's color scheme. At the time of publication, Gauff's individual US Open outfit had not yet been revealed; according to designscene.net, New Balance planned to unveil it when she took the court against Sönmez on September 1.
A long-standing partnership with New Balance
Hype Magazine adds broader context, noting that New Balance signed Gauff back in 2018, when she was just 14 years old — long before she became a Grand Slam champion. The outlet frames the partnership as an example of a brand investing patiently in an athlete's development rather than only backing already-established stars. The article cites a social media post in which South African tennis fans praised New Balance for its loyalty to Gauff since the earliest days of her career.
