Commodore and CD Projekt Red unveil Cyberpunk 2077-themed Commodore 64
Commodore has teamed up with CD Projekt Red to create the "Commodore 77," a Cyberpunk 2077-styled edition of its Commodore 64 Ultimate. Pre-orders are open for $377, though no shipping date has been announced.
Commodore has partnered with game studio CD Projekt Red (CDPR) to release a special edition computer themed around the video game Cyberpunk 2077. The new model, called the "Commodore 77," is based on the Commodore 64 Ultimate and is designed to look as though it were pulled straight out of the game's setting, Night City.
The machine's yellow case features weathered detailing and graffiti-style markings, a metal plate across the function key row, and partially peeled-off stickers. Even the boot screen has been redesigned to match the game's dystopian look.
Bundled demo and extras
The package includes a demo experience that expands on the Cyberpunk universe's lore. It was created by Arise, a Polish Commodore 64 enthusiast group, with a soundtrack composed by chiptune artist LukHash. The demo ships on a cartridge styled after the in-game Arasaka corporation.
Buyers will also receive a custom neon-colored power indicator light, stickers, pins, collectible packaging, and a themed spiral-bound user guide.
Commodore's revival
Commodore was relaunched by YouTuber Christian "Perifractic" Simpson, whose first product was the 64 Ultimate — an FPGA-based recreation of the original Commodore 64 featuring a real keyboard, HDMI and USB ports, and WiFi, while remaining backward-compatible with original C64 accessories. Current models are produced using the original injection molds.
The Commodore 77 is now available for pre-order at Commodore.net for $377, though the company has not yet announced when units will actually ship.
