CSDD hit by cyberattack, user names and passwords not affected

The Road Traffic Safety Directorate (CSDD), Latvia's state agency responsible for vehicle registration and road safety services, has reported that it was targeted by a cyberattack over the weekend.

According to CSDD, the attackers managed to gain partial access to the agency's IT system and unlawfully extracted historical data from payment receipts related to CSDD services.

The agency stated that customer usernames and passwords were not affected by the breach, meaning access to user accounts has not been compromised.

It remains unclear how extensive the leaked data is or whether any other personal information beyond payment receipt details was exposed. CSDD has not yet provided further details about the source of the attack or how the incident might affect its customers going forward.
