Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.5 brings console mods and Edgerunners content
Developer CD Projekt Red is releasing update 2.5 for Cyberpunk 2077, adding cross-platform mod support on consoles and content inspired by the new season of Netflix's Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime.

CD Projekt Red (CDPR), the developer of the video game Cyberpunk 2077, is releasing a large 2.5 update. For the first time, it lets players browse and install player-made mods from the in-game menu on consoles as well, and it adds content inspired by the new season of the Netflix animated series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The update could extend the relevance of a game released nearly six years ago.
Edgerunners content
The series-related content includes a new side quest, a gear set based on the character Weak Kingsley, and a new radio station playing music from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
Players who haven't seen the show also get new features. These include a Double Trouble perk option that allows dual-wielding pistols and revolvers, plus a side quest in which Richard Night guides players around the city.
Mod support
Cross-platform mod support is powered by the mod.io platform. It is a first step toward cross-platform modding, and more mods are planned to become available over time. The feature will be offered on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. The patch notes do not say which mods will be available at launch.
Other improvements
Other changes include saves grouped by playthrough, DLSS 4.5 support, glasses-free 3D effects and a field-of-view (FOV) slider for console players.
The update launches on October 22 on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It will reach Nintendo Switch 2 and the Mac App Store "in the days to follow," according to CDPR's patch notes.
