Dagnija Voika's peony collection in Pelči: 450 varieties and over 100 hybrids
In Pelči parish, Kuldīga region, Dagnija Voika has spent 18 years building a peony garden called “Ziedoņi”, now featuring 450 varieties and more than 100 of her own hybrid creations.
Dagnija Voika started her peony collection 18 years ago. Today, her garden “Ziedoņi” in Pelči parish, Kuldīga region, displays 450 different peony varieties. As she told Latvijas Radio’s program “Stiprie stāsti”, her greatest pride is the hybrids she has bred herself, numbering over 100. The garden is open to visitors, offering a chance to admire this rich diversity of flowers.
