Dundee United boss Goodwin out of hospital but timeline for return unclear
Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin has left hospital and is recovering at home after a health scare, though it is still unknown when he will return to his managerial duties.
Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin, 44, has been discharged from hospital following a sudden health scare, but there is still no clarity on when he will resume his role at the club.
Goodwin fell ill and was admitted to hospital last Thursday, causing him to miss United's 4-0 Scottish Premiership win away at Kilmarnock on Saturday. Assistant manager Lee Sharp took charge of the team for that match at Rugby Park and will do so again for United's upcoming midweek away trip to face Motherwell, with Goodwin's absence continuing.
Sharp confirmed that Goodwin is now back home recovering and is awaiting further guidance from doctors on next steps. When asked whether there was any indication of a return date, Sharp said there was none, adding that Goodwin would already be back if he were medically cleared to do so, and that the two remain in constant contact.
Despite the manager's absence, things are continuing as normal behind the scenes at Tannadice, with the club reportedly close to finalising a loan move for former Dundee midfielder Lyall Cameron from Rangers.
