Exhibition "Station Stories" opens in Daudzeva
The "Zelta gailenes" association wrapped up its project in Daudzeva with the opening of the exhibition "Station Stories," the result of a summer-long effort.
Last Sunday, the Daudzeva community marked an important local event: the closing ceremony of a project run by the "Zelta gailenes" association, which included the opening of the exhibition "Station Stories." Preparing the exhibition took up most of the summer, with the busiest stretch of work concentrated in the final week before the opening.
Organizers hoped the event would feel warm and tasteful, giving local residents a reason to gather once again at the railway station — a place that holds particular significance for the Daudzeva community.
In the last week before the opening, exhibition materials were still being printed and had to be collected in Riga. Until the very last moment, there was no certainty whether errors had crept into the texts; one mistake was indeed found, but overall the materials turned out well and visually appealing.
Alongside preparing the materials, organizers also had to put together a program for the event, working out how to combine different elements so visitors would stay engaged throughout. This kind of planning was not something the organizers had done regularly before, but they found it an interesting experience — and by their own assessment, the event was a success.
