Man Who Fell into Daugava from Railway Bridge Identified as Latvian Railway Employee

On Thursday, July 10, 2026, at 10:36 AM, the State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) received a report that someone had fallen from the Railway Bridge into the Daugava River in Riga. Two VUGD boats and a cutter were dispatched to the scene, and the water was searched using an echo sounder. However, the person was not found.

Later, the program "Degpunktā" reported that the missing individual is an employee of "Latvijas dzelzceļš" (LDz), the national railway company.
