The video surveillance system in Daugavpils has been in operation for over ten years, and its network is growing annually. At present, more than 200 cameras are deployed on city streets, including both stationary and mobile units.

These cameras help detect a range of violations – from traffic accidents and swimming in fountains to hooliganism and attempted thefts. Video recordings frequently become crucial evidence in identifying perpetrators, thereby enhancing public safety in the city.

The municipality continues to invest in video surveillance infrastructure to improve residents' security and assist law enforcement agencies. The exact number and placement of cameras vary according to the city's needs, but the system's effectiveness has been demonstrated numerous times.
