Debutantes score 40 points as Liepāja faces Klaipėda's LCC for second time
Liepāja's women's basketball team lost a second preseason friendly to LCC International University 64:73, with newcomer Ksenija Petrova scoring 27 points.

The Liepāja women's basketball team, coached by Elvijs Brokāns and Niks Lagzdiņš, faced LCC International University from Klaipėda for the second time this preseason on Saturday, September 19, losing 64:73.
It was the teams' second friendly match, following a September 9 game in which Liepāja lost 68:89.
Newcomers keep making an impact
Over the offseason, Liepāja added three players: Marta Ploriņa and Dārta Veidere from TTT's junior team, along with Ksenija Petrova, captain of Daugavpils University's team and a member of Latvia's U20 national squad. All three made their debut for Liepāja in the first friendly, combining for 36 points — 18 from Petrova and 17 from Ploriņa.
In the second match, the newcomers again played major roles. Ksenija Petrova made all five of her three-point attempts and scored 27 points. Marta Ploriņa added 11 points, converting five shots near the basket and grabbing five offensive rebounds. Dārta Veidere scored two points and added four assists.
Players returning from injury
Ahead of the second game, captain Ance Kočetkova returned to the lineup after recovering from an injury. On Saturday, center Annija Birziņa also returned to the court, playing until she reached her foul limit. Another player, Maija Aploka, has not yet returned due to injury.
