Deezer: More than 50% of Daily Uploads Are AI-Generated
Deezer reports that AI-generated tracks now account for over 50% of daily uploads, peaking at 90,000 per day in June 2026. The company will remove AI tracks that haven't been streamed in six months or are involved in fraudulent streaming.
Music streaming company Deezer has announced that AI-generated tracks now make up more than half of all daily uploads on its platform. In June 2026, the figure hit a peak of 90,000 tracks per day on average.
Deezer began tracking AI-generated uploads last year, and the number has steadily increased. In January 2025, AI tracks represented 10,000 daily uploads (10% of total), rising to 20,000 (18%) in April 2025, 30,000 (28%) in September 2025, and 50,000 (34%) in November 2025. This year, the count grew to 60,000 (39%) in January 2026 and 75,000 (44%) in April 2026.
The rapid rise of AI music has forced streaming services to decide how much of it they want. Some take strict measures: Bandcamp bans such tracks, Tidal cuts off monetization. Apple Music has a voluntary AI-tagging system, while Spotify developed its own policy on AI use in music.
Deezer's latest move involves removing AI-generated tracks that haven't been streamed in the past six months or are involved in fraudulent streaming to boost revenue. “Deezer has been at the frontline of fighting fraud and reducing payment dilution related to AI music for almost two years. Now that half of all daily uploads are AI-generated tracks, we are taking additional steps to safeguard the rights of artists and songwriters, while maintaining focus on music that fans actually love,” CEO Alexis Lanternier said in a statement.
Deezer started labeling AI music last year and says its detection tech can identify tracks generated with models from Suno and Udio, AI-music startups involved in copyright lawsuits. Earlier this year, Deezer made its detection tool available to other platforms, though it's unclear if major platforms are using it. Last month, it also released a tool to scan Apple Music and Spotify playlists for AI-generated tracks.
