Decorative Arts and Design Museum opens centenary exhibition of textile artist Rūdolfs Heimrāts

The Museum of Decorative Arts and Design in Riga has opened an exhibition dedicated to the centenary of Rūdolfs Heimrāts, one of the most significant figures in Latvian textile art. Titled «Mantojums» (Heritage), the exhibition invites visitors to explore the full breadth of the artist's creative work.

Beyond tapestries

While Heimrāts is best known as a textile artist and creator of tapestries, the exhibition demonstrates that his creative output extended far beyond a single discipline. On display are also examples of his ceramics, along with evidence of his collaborations with architects and his involvement in interior design projects. This gives visitors a broader view of Heimrāts as a versatile creative figure rather than a master of just one technique.
