France national team coach Didier Deschamps expressed relief after their opening World Cup victory against Senegal. He admitted the start was shaky but the team played more freely later.

Deschamps noted that the positional switch between Ousmane Dembélé and Michael Olise changed many things, and Bradley Barcola caused problems for the opposition after coming off the bench. Barcola's goal has prompted media questions about his potential spot in the starting lineup for future matches.

The coach emphasized that many players can rightfully claim a starting place, including Rayan Cherki, who only entered the pitch late in the game. "We will need all players. What matters is what Barcola did in this game and what other players will be able to do in the future," Deschamps added.

France will face Iraq on June 23 at midnight Latvian time in Philadelphia, and conclude the group stage against Norway on June 26 in Boston.
