Anne Hathaway has been acting for nearly 30 years, appearing in dozens of films and winning an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA and an Emmy. Musical talent and early roles
Hathaway trained in classical singing as a teenager. In 1999, at age 16, she performed as a soprano at Carnegie Hall, and just three days later she landed her first major role in the series “Get Real”. She also sang in “Ella Enchanted” and “Les Misérables”, winning an Oscar for best supporting actress for the latter.
Personal life
In June 2026, the actress announced that she and her husband Adam Shulman are expecting their third child. The couple already have two sons – ten-year-old Jonathan and six-year-old Jack.
Unexpected roles
Hathaway got the role of Mia in “The Princess Diaries” almost by accident – the audition happened during a brief layover, and her natural charm, including falling off a chair, impressed the director. For “The Devil Wears Prada”, she was initially only the ninth candidate on the casting list.
