Dozens of coordinated arson attacks strike southern Thailand
More than 50 coordinated arson and incendiary attacks hit Thailand's insurgency-hit southern provinces overnight into Sunday, injuring two people.

Thailand's military has reported more than 50 coordinated arson and incendiary attacks across the country's insurgency-affected southern provinces, describing them as an attempt to stir up unrest.
Targets included a local government office, a convenience store and a stolen vehicle that was set alight, with two people injured in the incidents. The report came from the military's Internal Security Operations Command.
Timeline of events
The attacks took place on Saturday between 20:00 local time (13:00 GMT) and midnight, spreading across several southern border provinces. The majority occurred in Narathiwat province, with further incidents reported in the neighbouring provinces of Yala and Pattani.
According to the Bangkok Post, two women were injured when a bomb detonated in the Muang district of Narathiwat province.
Telecommunication towers were also set on fire at multiple locations, prompting security officials to warn residents against touching any suspicious objects.
Response and current situation
Authorities imposed an overnight curfew in Narathiwat province, which was lifted on Sunday morning. No additional attacks had been reported as of Sunday.
Thailand's southern border provinces have long experienced unrest linked to a separatist insurgency, with recurring clashes between militant groups and state security forces.
