Devils sign recently acquired Evangelista to long-term contract
New Jersey Devils have signed forward Evangelista to a five-year contract, weeks after acquiring him in a trade with the Nashville Predators.

The New Jersey Devils acquired 24-year-old forward Evangelista this month in a trade, sending two draft picks to the Nashville Predators. The club has now announced a new five-year contract with the player.
According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, Evangelista's average annual salary under the new deal will be $7.25 million. The new contract does not take effect until the 2027-2028 season, meaning the forward will earn $3 million in the upcoming season under his current terms.
Last season's performance
Playing for the Predators last season, Evangelista appeared in 81 regular-season games, recording 56 points on 12 goals and 44 assists, along with a plus-1 rating. While the 56 points marked a career high, his goal total fell short of his personal best of 16 goals, set during the 2023-2024 season.
