DHL Express to raise shipping prices in Latvia by an average of 4.9%
DHL Express has announced its annual price review in Latvia, which will bring an average 4.9% increase in service costs. The company cites inflation, rising expenses and continued global investment as the drivers.

DHL Express has announced that its service prices in Latvia will rise by an average of 4.9% as part of its annual price review. The company says such reviews take place every year, reflecting inflationary pressure, currency fluctuations and industry-specific cost developments.
Artis Dekšenieks, head of DHL Express Latvia, said international trade continues to open new opportunities for businesses, but supply chains are becoming increasingly interconnected and complex. He added that the company remains committed to investing in its global network, digital capabilities, security infrastructure and sustainable logistics solutions to maintain the service quality and reliability clients expect.
Multiple cost pressures
As a company operating in more than 220 countries and territories, DHL Express says it is affected both by local economic conditions and by broader global market trends. Beyond inflation, cost structures are being shaped by energy prices, compliance requirements, and administrative expenses tied to customs, regulatory and security measures introduced by national and international authorities. In many markets, labor market pressures continue to push up operating costs.
Investment in infrastructure and security
The company notes it has recently completed delivery of all 28 ordered Boeing 777 cargo aircraft, introduced more fuel-efficient planes, and expanded and modernized infrastructure across its regions. In 2026, DHL Express surpassed 500 TAPA-certified facilities worldwide, reinforcing its position as the world's most TAPA-certified logistics provider.
At the same time, the company is strengthening its IT infrastructure to improve cybersecurity, system resilience and shipment visibility, including further development of artificial intelligence capabilities on its MyExpress platform. On sustainability, DHL Express continues investing in fuel-efficient aircraft, sustainable aviation fuel, electric vehicles and climate-neutral buildings as part of efforts to cut emissions.
