Dienas Bizness Publisher Secures Recovery Fund Support for Digital Overhaul
Latvian publisher "Dienas bizness" has signed a contract with the Central Finance and Contracting Agency for Recovery Fund support to digitize its Dienas Bizness and Dienas Žurnāli publications through new CRM, mobile and Smart TV applications.

On January 9, 2025, SIA "Izdevniecība "Dienas bizness"" signed a contract with Latvia's Central Finance and Contracting Agency (CFLA) for support funded by the European Union's Recovery Fund. The support falls under the measure "Modernization of processes in media sector companies," and its goal is to carry out a digital transformation of the Dienas Bizness and Dienas Žurnāli publications.
The project's core aim is to adapt the company's operations to current media consumption habits and to foster closer interaction between digital and traditional print formats. This involves both introducing new technological tools and upgrading existing digital solutions.
Two implementation deadlines
The contract sets two milestones. By June 30, 2025, the company is required to launch two customer relationship management (CRM) systems, intended to improve communication with subscribers and advertisers. By June 30, 2026, a broader set of digital tools must be completed — two mobile applications and two Smart TV applications — along with an expansion of existing platform functionality, including improvements to the Dienas subscription system (DAS).
The funding is part of a wider state program supporting the digital capacity of Latvian media companies. Such support is meant to help the sector adapt more quickly to shifting reader and customer habits while preserving its print offering. Implementation of the project will continue until summer 2026, with results to be assessed once the specified digital solutions are rolled out across both of the company's publications.
