Nearly 200 clashes recorded on frontline in a day, most in Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk directions
Ukraine's General Staff reports 195 combat clashes on the frontline since the start of the day, with the highest numbers in the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk directions. Russia also carried out massive missile and drone strikes.

Ukraine's General Staff of the Armed Forces has reported 195 combat engagements across the front line since the start of the day on August 20, according to a situation summary compiled as of 22:00.
The most intense fighting occurred in the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk directions, each recording 18 clashes. The Sloviansk direction saw 11 engagements, the Kupiansk direction nine, the Huliaipole direction eight, and the Lyman direction five. The Northern and Southern Slobozhanske directions each registered three clashes, the Orikhiv direction two, and the Kramatorsk direction one.
Large-scale strikes
According to the General Staff, Russia launched one ballistic missile strike during the day and used 44 cruise and aviation missiles fired from air, ground and sea platforms. It also carried out 55 air strikes involving 157 guided aerial bombs.
Russian forces additionally deployed 6,634 kamikaze drones in attacks. In total, 2,151 shelling incidents were recorded against Ukrainian troop positions and populated areas.
