“Digitours” enters insolvency; Latvian consumer watchdog suspends licence

The Consumer Rights Protection Centre (PTAC) has announced that tour operator “Digitours” filed for insolvency in August 2026. The regulator is therefore asking people not to buy new tours or make any payments to the company, warning that services may not be provided and money may not be refunded.
PTAC has received several complaints from consumers saying that “Digitours” has cancelled previously booked trips and failed to refund the money paid. In light of these findings, the centre has decided to suspend the licence issued to the tour operator. This means that “Digitours” is no longer allowed to provide package travel services, and concluding new contracts with the company is currently unsafe.
Consumers who have already bought a trip from “Digitours” but have not received the service or a refund are advised to keep all transaction-related documents, including contracts, payment confirmations and correspondence with the operator. PTAC said the refund procedure will be announced later, so affected customers should follow the centre’s public updates. Since the company has filed for insolvency, travellers who were only planning to make a purchase should carefully consider whether to risk their money. PTAC emphasises that caution is especially important when choosing travel services.
