Diomandé's record move to Real Madrid highlights busy sports day
Real Madrid have made a record signing with Yan Diomandé, while Salah, Le Court-Pienaar and tennis stars also featured in a busy sports round-up.

Real Madrid have completed the signing of Yan Diomandé from RB Leipzig, with the 19-year-old Ivory Coast international putting pen to paper on a deal until 2033. The transfer is valued at €125 million, with an additional €15 million in potential add-ons, making it the most expensive acquisition in the Spanish club's history and the highest fee ever paid for an African player. Vinicius, meanwhile, has ended months of speculation by extending his contract with Real Madrid until 2032. Paris Saint-Germain have also confirmed the arrival of Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco, with the France international signing a five-year contract in a €50 million deal. Mohamed Salah was unveiled at Trabzonspor in front of tens of thousands of supporters following his departure from Liverpool.
In cycling, Kim Le Court-Pienaar triumphed on stage six of the Tour de France Femmes, finishing ahead of Cédrine Kerbaol and Puck Pieterse. Marlen Reusser retains the yellow jersey, holding a 12-second lead over Demi Vollering.
On the tennis circuit, Gaël Monfils was knocked out by Learner Tien (6-3, 0-6, 6-3) in his final appearance at the Montreal Masters 1000. Arthur Fils progressed to the last 16 after defeating Mariano Navone (6-3, 6-2). At the WTA 1000 event in Toronto, Iga Swiatek, Jessica Pegula and Marta Kostyuk also secured their spots in the last 16.
