Disney is making a new push into short-form creator videos by teaming up with TikTok. The company announced a partnership that will bring a broad, curated collection of fan-made Disney content to the Verts video feed on Disney Plus, a feature launched earlier this year. Creators will get access to assets from hundreds of movies and TV shows.

The pilot will run in the United States in the coming months, with plans to expand to other markets later. TikTok creators who opt in will have their videos hosted on both TikTok and Disney Plus. Disney says the program includes perks such as increased visibility, exclusive event access, and career development pathways.

Disney had previously been planning a similar arrangement with OpenAI, which would have allowed the AI provider’s now-defunct Sora video generator to train on and replicate protected Disney IP in exchange for hosting Sora-made videos on Disney Plus. The new partnership with TikTok does not explicitly exclude AI tools; the outlet has reached out for clarification.
