A few days ago, two 9th grade graduates went to Riga to have fun. There they met a foreigner and flew with him to Portugal without parental permission. The relatives, including one girl's mother and father who lives in another city, are unclear how this happened. The girl revealed that the meeting took place at night, and within a few hours she and her friend went to the airport. The foreigner promised they could film videos with celebrities.

Apollo.lv does not know which airline the girls used, but has gathered information on the travel rules for minors from Latvia to foreign countries. This incident has raised questions about how minors can leave the country without parental consent. Airlines and airports have regulations requiring additional checks, but they are not always consistently applied.
