The independent Russian-language media outlet Sova, which covers events in Georgia and the Caucasus, reports that two Georgian military volunteers have been killed while fighting in defence of Ukraine against Russia. Among the deceased is Igor Bekurashvili. Additionally, the death of 30-year-old Georgian fighter Giorgi Damenia has been confirmed. Damenia was born in the town of Senaki in western Georgia and had been living in Ukraine in recent years. Memorial services for the Georgian volunteers will be held in the coming days.

Earlier, it was reported that Lithuanian military volunteer Ignas Kailius had been killed in action defending Ukraine. In January, 28-year-old Polish military volunteer Kacper "Frenchman" Bass died after being wounded in action in Ukraine's Kharkiv Oblast in late December 2025. The loss of these volunteers highlights the continued international support for Ukraine in its war against Russian aggression.
