Two teenage darts talents ready to take on world champion Littler on Netflix

In Netflix's Beat Luke Littler event on Friday, 24 finalists could face darts world champion Luke Littler for a £501,000 prize. Among them are 15-year-old Mitchell Lawrie and 14-year-old Jayden Walker.

At Netflix's Beat Luke Littler event on Friday, 24 finalists are competing for the chance to play two-time darts world champion Luke Littler, who is 19 and ranked world No 1. If any contender beats Littler, the event ends and that player takes home £501,000. Littler, in turn, must win 24 legs in a row to stop them.

Two of the finalists are teenagers: 15-year-old Scot Mitchell Lawrie, a two-time World Youth Championship winner, and 14-year-old Jayden Walker from Dorset. Both have played Littler before.

Lawrie's plans

Lawrie, who turns 16 next week, told Sky Sports the prize money is life-changing. Three or four years ago he lost to Littler 3-2 after missing several match darts. He is the youngest player to win a match at the World Darts Federation (WDF) World Championship, surpassing Littler's own record.

The Scot confirmed he will enter the PDC (Professional Darts Corporation) Qualifying School in January 2027 to try to win a two-year Tour card. He believes darts can only be a living through the PDC. Against Littler he would need to win just one leg, and he plans to win the bull-up and hit two trebles to start.

Walker and school

Walker has hit three nine-darters, the most recent in February last year. At 12 he beat world No 2 Luke Humphries in an exhibition match, averaging 102, and Humphries called him the best 12-year-old he had ever seen.

Walker said his mother insists he finishes his homework before darts, and that maths has helped his game. He hopes appearing on Netflix will bring publicity, sponsors and followers to help him travel to events.
