Diesel fuel now costs over two euros per litre in all three Baltic capitals
Following continued price increases in Lithuania and Estonia, diesel fuel now costs more than two euros per litre in Riga, Vilnius and Tallinn alike. Riga's diesel price was the only one to dip slightly last week.
Fuel prices across the Baltic capitals mostly continued rising last week, according to data compiled by the LETA news agency. The only exception was diesel in Riga, which saw a slight decrease — but price growth in Lithuania and Estonia was so sharp that diesel fuel now exceeds two euros per litre in all three Baltic capitals.
Petrol prices
By the end of the working week, the most expensive 95-octane petrol was in Riga, where it cost 1.978 euros per litre at the Circle K station on Krasta Street — up 2.3% from the previous week. Tallinn saw the steepest petrol price rise, up 6.3% to 1.954 euros per litre. In Vilnius, petrol rose 5.4% to 1.939 euros per litre.
Diesel prices
Diesel was most expensive in Vilnius on Friday, at 2.179 euros per litre, up 5.8% week-on-week. In Riga, the diesel price actually fell by 0.3%, yet still stood at 2.078 euros per litre. Tallinn recorded the largest percentage increase in diesel, up 9.1% to 2.039 euros per litre, though it remained the cheapest of the three capitals.
Autogas
Autogas prices held steady across all three capitals over the week. On Friday, autogas cost 0.915 euros per litre in Riga, 0.968 euros in Tallinn, and 0.809 euros in Vilnius, the cheapest of the three.
