Diesel prices cross two euros per litre in all three Baltic capitals

As diesel prices kept rising in Lithuania and Estonia, diesel now costs more than two euros per litre in all Baltic capital cities. In Riga, diesel prices actually edged down slightly last week.

According to data compiled by the LETA news agency, fuel prices in Baltic capital cities generally continued to rise last week. The one exception was diesel in Riga, where the price fell while other fuel types and other cities saw increases.

However, diesel prices kept climbing in neighboring Lithuania and Estonia, meaning diesel fuel now costs more than two euros per litre in all three Baltic capitals simultaneously. This marks a symbolic threshold now crossed across the entire region at the same time.

Regional price trend

Although diesel prices in Riga dipped slightly over the past week, this has not changed the broader picture — fuel prices in the region continue to climb overall. Prices for other fuel types in the capital cities rose in all three countries last week.

The LETA data is regularly used to compare fuel price trends across the Baltic states, and it now shows that the two-euro diesel mark has been reached simultaneously in Riga, Vilnius, and Tallinn.
