DJ Ella appeals for help finding brother and other Latvians after Nepal floods

Singer Elīna Fūrmane, known as DJ Ella, has publicly asked for help locating her brother Raimonds Fūrmanis, his wife Agnese, and other Latvian travelers who have been unreachable since floods struck near the China–Nepal border on August 26. Singer Elīna Fūrmane, better known as DJ Ella, has posted an emotional video on social media appealing for public help regarding her brother Raimonds Fūrmanis, his wife Agnese Fūrmane, and other Latvian travelers who went missing following devastating floods in Nepal.

According to the musician, the last contact with the group was on Wednesday, August 26, near the China–Nepal border — the final known location where the travelers were seen. Since then, the family has been unable to reach them.

"So Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday — four days and we have absolutely no news about them," Ella said in the video, stressing that the family knows nothing about what happened to their relatives.

Appeal to the foreign minister

The musician is asking people to share the video widely to draw greater public attention to the situation. She specifically appealed to anyone who personally knows Foreign Minister Baiba Braže to forward the video to her.

Ella noted that the family has already contacted Latvia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as other institutions both in Latvia and abroad. Information needed to identify the missing people — personal identification numbers, passport details, and a video with photographs — has been sent to the responsible authorities.

"I know that work is being done," Ella said, adding that after four days without information, the family hopes wider public involvement could help uncover even the smallest lead about where the missing travelers might be.

Closing the video, the musician repeated her plea for public help, stressing that every hour matters in the search.
