More than 60,000 consumers in Dnipro, a city in central Ukraine, lost electricity on the evening of 7 November after Russian shelling of energy infrastructure. The information came from Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration. It shows that attacks on energy facilities in this region, part of Russia's war against Ukraine, are continuing.

Hanzha said that more than 60,000 consumers in Dnipro were without power because of repeated Russian attacks on the energy sector. According to him, restoration work will begin when the security situation permits. No specific timeframe for restoring supply has been given.

What came before

Since 29 October, the enemy has been actively attacking the energy sector of the Dnipropetrovsk region. On 30 October, emergency power outages were introduced in Dnipro and across the region, and almost all electric transport in the city stopped. On 2 November, after massive attacks on the power system, electricity was restored to 820,000 families in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The latest outages in Dnipro are therefore part of a series of attacks on the region that has lasted more than a week. The source does not say how long consumers may remain without electricity, and it does not report any casualties.
