More than 200,000 people in Ukraine's central Dnipropetrovsk region were still without electricity on Friday, 30 October 2026, Ukrainian authorities said. They linked the outages to deadly Russian attacks, as the war in Ukraine continues to hit both civilians and infrastructure.

Aid convoy reaches Oleshky

On Friday an aid convoy also entered Oleshky, a Russian-held city in southern Ukraine. It was carrying food and medical supplies and arrived under a localised ceasefire deal between Kyiv and Moscow. Officials from both countries said the limited truce in Oleshky had held for a third day, and that a humanitarian mission was expected to arrive on Friday.

Attack on Dnipro

The day before, on Thursday, a Russian drone hit a busy railway platform in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro, killing at least 14 people. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described it as a "horrific" attack and said it demands action from Kyiv's allies.

A Russian missile strike also hit Kyiv on Friday. A Reuters photograph shows a woman walking past a crater in a residential area of the capital.

The information comes from France 24's live coverage of the war in Ukraine.
