Over 600,000 Consumers Left Without Power in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk Region After Russian Attacks
On the morning of 8 November, more than 600,000 consumers in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region lost electricity because of Russian attacks on the energy system. Hospitals and critical infrastructure have switched to generators.

More than 600,000 consumers in the Dnipropetrovsk region of eastern Ukraine were left without electricity on the morning of 8 November, following Russian shelling of the region's energy system. The outage was reported by DTEK, Ukraine's largest private energy company, and by Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration.
Hanzha said consumers lost power in the Dnipro, Kamianske, Samarivka, Pavlohrad and Synelnykove districts as a result of enemy attacks on the energy system.
What is known about the consequences
DTEK reported that the overnight Russian attack damaged important energy facilities in the region. Hospitals and critical infrastructure sites are switching to generator power. Power engineers are already working to restore the electricity supply.
What happened earlier
On the evening of 7 November, more than 60,000 consumers in the city of Dnipro had already lost power because of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure. The overnight attacks continued, and the number of disconnected consumers rose substantially.
The source illustrates the situation with a photo from Dnipro, where a blackout occurred after Russian attacks on energy facilities in January this year. The source gives no information on possible casualties.
