Dobele and Tērvete to Hold Health-Focused Day Camps During School Autumn Break
The Dobele municipality will run three educational day camps for pupils in grades 1-3 during the autumn school break, from October 19-23, focusing on healthy lifestyles and outdoor activities. Registration opens October 2.

The Dobele municipal government is organizing three educational day camps for young schoolchildren during the upcoming autumn break. Two of the camps will take place in Dobele — one for first-graders and another for pupils in grades 2-3 — while a third will be held in Tērvete for children in grades 1-3. Each camp will accommodate up to 20 participants.
The camps will run for five days, from October 19 to 23, daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participants will receive balanced, healthy meals and spend time outdoors through sports, games and themed walks.
During the sessions, children will learn about healthy nutrition and the role of physical activity in daily life, along with age-appropriate information on preventing addiction and injuries, as well as mental health awareness.
Registration for the camps opens on October 2 at 10 a.m. on the municipality's website, under the "Aktualitātes" (News) section. For the grades 2-3 camp, priority will be given to children who have not yet attended camps under this project during the current 2025/2026 school year, since demand is expected to exceed the available spots.
The initiative is funded through the European Social Fund Plus and the state budget, as part of the project "Implementation of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Measures in Dobele Municipality," which aims to encourage healthy habits among children from an early school age.
