New large-format apple-shaped sculptures have been installed on Dobele's Market Square in celebration of the upcoming Apple Festival, scheduled for October 3 at the garden of the Institute of Horticulture.

According to the company that produced the installations, SIA "Tenapors", the base structures of the large environmental objects are made from expanded polystyrene, commonly known as styrofoam. The concept for the objects was developed in cooperation with Liene Laurinoviča, environmental designer at the Dobele Municipality Building Authority.

What to expect at the festival

This year's festival visitors will be able to explore an exhibition featuring more than 100 apple varieties. Guests will also have the opportunity to taste apples and receive consultations from specialists on apple growing.

Alongside the exhibition, an autumn harvest and craft fair will take place, offering goods from local producers and artisans. Activities for children are also planned, while the cultural program includes a performance by the Liepāja Puppet Theatre and a concert by musician Chris Noah.

Admission to the festival will be free of charge for all visitors.
