Dobele district accepting sports funding applications for 2027 until October 30

The Dobele district municipality has announced that applications for funding to support high-achievement sports development in 2027 can be submitted until October 30.

Who can apply

Eligible applicants include associations and sports clubs legally registered in the Dobele district. Individual athletes aged 15 and older may also apply, provided they meet at least one of the following conditions: they have declared their residence in the Dobele district, they work at a company or institution in the district, or they study at a municipal educational institution. Applicant athletes must also represent the Dobele district in competitions.

What the funding covers

The funds may be used for a range of purposes tied to preparing athletes for and supporting their participation in high-level competitions. This includes covering the training process, competition entry fees, purchasing or renting sports equipment and gear, transport costs, use of sports facilities, and payment of required licenses.

The municipality noted that funding is also available on a broader scale, extending to sports game teams and organizers of sporting events in the district.
