Documentary follows attempt to ski down Mount Everest
A new documentary, "Everest: The Other Side" (Latvian title "Everests: otra puse"), from the makers of the Oscar-winning "Free Solo", follows an attempt to ski down Everest's north face. During filming, the sporting challenge also became a story of loss.

A new documentary, known in Latvian as "Everests: otra puse" ("Everest: The Other Side"), captures one of the most difficult descents in the history of mountaineering. Its creators are the same filmmakers behind "Free Solo", a film that won an Oscar, and this time they follow an attempt to ski down the north face of Everest, the world's highest mountain.
The film lets viewers watch this extreme sporting challenge up close. During production, however, the story took another direction: alongside the attempted descent, the film also deals with a tragic loss and an effort to come to terms with it.
The source gives no further details about the people taking part, the circumstances of what happened or when the film will be shown, so these questions remain open.
