Border Guard: Recent drone attacks on western Ukraine relied on relay stations in Belarus
Ukraine's State Border Guard Service says recent Russian drone strikes on the Rivne, Volyn and Lviv regions were technically enabled via signal relay stations located in Belarus. Officials note no buildup of strike forces near the border has been observed, though the threat from Belarus persists.
A spokesman for Ukraine's State Border Guard Service (DPSU), Colonel Andriy Demchenko, said during a national telethon that recent Russian drone strikes on Ukraine's Rivne, Volyn and Lviv regions were supported technically from Belarusian territory.
According to Demchenko, the aerial attack devices launched by Russia received signal reinforcement through relay stations positioned inside Belarus. He said this shows Belarus continues to support Russia, effectively taking part in enabling these strikes.
Threat near the border remains
The official added that Ukrainian border guards currently do not observe any buildup of strike groupings near the border on Belarusian territory. Nevertheless, he said, the overall threat originating from Belarus remains in place.
The comments were made during the national telethon "Pryama Mova," where the DPSU representative addressed the situation along Ukraine's western border with Belarus.
