DraftKings rolls out new betting promotions as US Open tennis and college football season kick off
Betting operator DraftKings has launched several new sign-up bonus offers spanning college football, NFL and MLB, while sports pundits have also published their picks for the U.S. Open tennis tournament in New York.
Several major sporting storylines are unfolding at once this week, and the betting industry — including DraftKings — has moved to capitalize with a wave of new promotional offers.
New DraftKings sign-up offers
According to RotoWire, new users on the DraftKings Pick 6 platform can deposit and wager as little as $5 to instantly receive $50 in bonus picks, regardless of whether the initial entry wins or loses. The bonus is issued as five separate $10 bonus picks that can only be used on Pick 6 contests and cannot be withdrawn as cash.
Separately, FOX Sports reports on a different and notably larger DraftKings offer tied to the start of the college football season, known as "Week 0." Under this promotion, new customers who deposit at least $5 and place a qualifying bet at odds of -500 or longer receive $200 in bonus bets instantly, win or lose. The two sources thus describe distinct DraftKings promotions — one offering $50, the other $200 — aimed at different sports and platforms.
The FOX Sports article also lists specific odds for several Week 0 college football games, including North Carolina's matchup against TCU in Dublin, Ireland, where TCU is a heavy favorite at -360, and No. 14 USC's game against San Jose State, where USC is favored by 38.5 points.
Attention also turns to the US Open
At the same time, preparations are underway for the U.S. Open tennis tournament in New York, which begins Sunday. Analysts at The Athletic (The New York Times) note that defending champion Carlos Alcaraz faces a tricky first-round test against Russia's Roman Safiullin, who at his last Grand Slam defeated Andrey Rublev and João Fonseca. Meanwhile, world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka's path is viewed as especially demanding, having reached only one semifinal in her last seven tournaments.
Sky Sports' panel of experts, including Tim Henman, name Alexander Zverev and Novak Djokovic among their picks to win the men's title, and Coco Gauff and Iga Świątek among the favorites on the women's side, while singling out players such as Arthur Fils and Ben Shelton as potential dark horses.
