The 2026 European Athletics Championships concluded in Birmingham on Sunday, August 16, with the final set of medals awarded. The highlight was Swedish pole vaulter Armand Duplantis claiming his fourth consecutive European title in the event.
Duplantis cleared 5.55 and 5.85 metres on his first attempts, cleared six metres on his second try, then returned to first-attempt form to clear 6.10 and 6.15 metres, setting a new championship record. Greece's Emmanouil Karalis took silver with six metres, while France's Baptiste Thierry finished third at 5.85 metres.
