Latvia's Poetry Days to celebrate under the slogan "Poetry Sings"

Latvia's annual Poetry Days, a tradition that has featured a slogan tailored to each year's events since 2015, are approaching once again. In previous years poetry has been described in these slogans as "breathing," "dancing," and "celebrating," but this autumn's chosen slogan is "Poetry Sings," pointing to a strong musical element in this year's program.
A musical, movement-filled program
The Poetry Days will include autumnal walks featuring poets, with poetry readings interwoven with musical performances and other artistic acts. Poets Elvīra Bloma, Guntars Godiņš and Ērika Bērziņa spoke about this year's Poetry Days concept on Latvian Radio's program "Kultūras rondo," emphasizing that the language of song and movement suits poetry particularly well this year.
