To mark the 30th anniversary of his debut album 'Reasonable Doubt,' Jay-Z performed at Yankee Stadium on Friday, July 10, 2026, in front of 45,000 attendees. The concert was part of a mini-residency that included a Saturday show honoring 'The Blueprint' and a third Sunday show added after rapid sellouts.

Show designer Willo Perron opted for a minimalist approach, emphasizing that Jay-Z as an artist is the main statement. The stage was simple, featuring a 2,952-square-foot screen showing footage from his early New York days, accompanied by a 10-person band and an 18-piece string section.

Several surprise guests appeared on stage: Beyoncé sang the chorus of 'Can't Knock the Hustle,' Nas joined for 'Dead Presidents,' and Alicia Keys performed 'Empire State of Mind' with Jay-Z after introducing it with Billy Joel's 'New York State of Mind.' Jay-Z's daughter Blue Ivy Carter played keyboards on 'Feelin' It,' and his mentor Jaz-O also appeared.

The stage design included bleachers on each side, allowing fans a close-up view reminiscent of Jay-Z's early club shows. To protect the Yankee Stadium field, the diamond was covered with a vinyl-mesh tarp that also served as a projection screen. According to Yankees CFO Scott Krug, logistics were meticulously planned to ensure the field was ready for upcoming baseball games.

The concert took place during a historic New York summer that included the World Cup, the Knicks' NBA championship, and Taylor Swift's wedding. NYU professor Isra Ali noted that such events reflect a growing hunger for authentic in-person experiences. Jay-Z, both a billionaire and a Brooklyn native, bridges two worlds, as he acknowledged from the stage: 'They said I sold out. Hell yeah, I sold out. Three nights. Yankee Stadium.'
