Ahead of the new NBA season, a Los Angeles Clippers player has said he expects to be part of the starting five, according to a report from the team's beat reporter Om Yangmisuk. The player expressed confidence in his roster position and said he felt great heading into the offseason, adding that his previously injured Achilles tendon has now fully healed.

Competition from a veteran

For the starting center role, the player will compete against 38-year-old Brook Lopez. However, it was noted that at this stage of his career, playing more than 20 minutes per game would place a significant physical burden on the veteran, which could work in the younger player's favor.

NBA career so far

The upcoming season will be his sixth in the NBA. He was selected 22nd overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2021 NBA Draft, but was traded to the Indiana Pacers during that same offseason.

Over his NBA career with the Pacers and Clippers, he has appeared in 218 games, averaging 7.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game.
