Dzenītis/Strazdiņš take second place in junior class at RADEX Rally Talsi
Latvian rally crew Kārlis Dzenītis and Jānis Strazdiņš achieved second place in the 2WD and junior categories at RADEX Rally Talsi, also winning two stages. Team leader says the first victory is close, and junior competition in Latvia has reached a very high level.

The Baltic Motorsport Promotion crew of Kārlis Dzenītis and Jānis Strazdiņš secured second place in the 2WD and junior classifications at the 'RADEX Rally Talsi' last weekend, also winning two special stages. This is their most confident performance of the season, especially towards the end, when the driver showed increasing speed, indicating that a win is only a matter of time.
The day before, in the minirally, Kate Dzenīte also had a successful start, finishing third in the Student class together with new co-driver Roberts Šivars. This was the crew's third consecutive podium in this class, and Kate now leads the series standings.
Team leader Mārtiņš Dzenītis acknowledges that junior competition in Latvia is now extremely high, with fast Estonian drivers, Martins Jēkabsons, Patriks Gromovs, and others. While second place is a good result, the team aims for victory, and the first win will surely come. Kārlis felt liberated behind the wheel at the end of the rally and was finally able to drive as he wished.
One of the most talked-about moments was Kārlis's spectacular jump over the city's artificial ramp, performed at full throttle on the team leader's instruction. The video garnered hundreds of thousands of views on social media. Kārlis admitted he had planned to brake before the ramp but followed his father's advice. The car had asphalt settings, causing an interesting flight that ended successfully.
At RADEX Rally Talsi, Kārlis Dzenītis also received the 'Mārtiņš Sesks MRF Juniors Challenge' Mentor prize – a €100 gift card from Virši, presented by Latvian motorsport legends Ivars Vasaraudzis and Matīss Mežaks.
This weekend, the team faces a new challenge: the Lõuna-Eesti Rally in Estonia. The team admits these will be the toughest roads they have encountered in their rally careers, so the main goal is a stable rally and reaching the finish, continuing to gain experience.
Kārlis Dzenītis's main sponsor is Trodo, with support from Radex Europe, Baltic Data, Albert Berner, Samsonas Motorsport, Fristads, the Latvian Automobile Federation, and others.
