Motorcyclist found under drugs, carrying knives, after speeding stop in Dzidriņas
Ropaži municipal police stopped a motorcyclist in Dzidriņas who was driving at double the allowed speed in a residential area. The check revealed he was under the influence of drugs and carrying knives.

Officers from the Ropaži municipal police force, while on routine patrol in the village of Dzidriņas, noticed a motorcyclist travelling through a residential area at roughly twice the permitted speed limit. Such driving behaviour in a built-up zone is considered a serious traffic violation, prompting officers to pull the rider over for a check.
Additional findings during the stop
During the inspection, police determined that the motorcyclist was under the influence of narcotic substances. This meant the man had been operating his vehicle in traffic while unable to properly assess road conditions, posing a risk to himself and other road users.
The check also revealed that the motorcyclist was carrying knives. This discovery gave officers additional reason to proceed with caution and carry out further verification measures on site.
The case illustrates how municipal police patrols in residential areas, including smaller settlements such as Dzidriņas, can uncover not only speeding violations but also other potential offences that may threaten the safety of local residents.
