Latvian singer Elīna Gluzunova, who rose to wider fame in late 2019 after winning the TV talent show "X Factor," has said in a recent interview that after several turbulent years she has finally found inner peace.

Soon after her win, the Covid-19 pandemic brought much of the music industry to a standstill. Later, Elīna appeared with her husband Artjoms and their three children on the reality show "Ģimene burkā" ("Family in a Jar"), which followed the couple's daily life, including their disagreements. During the show it also emerged that the couple's youngest son, Tomass, had received a serious diagnosis requiring immediate treatment.

Changes in the relationship

Although the public scrutiny surrounding the show appeared to strain Elīna and Artjoms' relationship, the couple went ahead and married. Shortly afterward, they announced they would no longer take part in reality television, saying they wanted to focus their time on each other and their family. That plan did not hold, however — some time later the couple separated, and Elīna briefly seemed to disappear from public view.

A new chapter

It turns out that during that quieter period, Elīna simply began a new chapter in her life. In the interview, she said the saying "happiness loves silence" was not something she could previously apply to her own life, but now she finally can. The singer said she feels rested for the first time in years and no longer senses the constant weight of public observation. While she admits she will likely never fully escape attention, she says the situation has become much calmer. Elīna noted that she can now freely meet friends, spend more time with her children, and set her own daily rhythm without having to explain herself to anyone — a sense of freedom she describes as long-awaited and valuable.
